Columbia Basin College 2017

Haven't seen anything recent for CBC so starting a new thread. Trying to get an idea of what score is needed to get into the Nurse program? If anyone is in program now or applying would love to chat.

Just took the teas test the other day and scored 82.7%. Finishing up my prerequisites this quarter and hoping to apply to the program by the March 1st deadline.

Anyone out there applying as well or have an idea of what would be a good score this year? Thanks!

I got an 87.3 on my TEAS test. Anything over 80 Is exceptional. If you have an index score of over 26.5, don't stress at all.

What was the majority of the Teas on? I know it's acumaltive of all our pre-reqs, so study everything but I'm just curious what I should focus the majority of my studying on. Any tips?

Math was basically just algebra. Reading and writing is simple, just know your parts of speech. The science was not too bad either. Just study Bio 160 and you should be fine

Itwillallbeworthit23 Math and reading was pretty straight forward. I found that purchasing the ATI practice tests on the website were helpful because it showed you how the tests were set up and eased a little bit of that anziety. One practice was easier over the other. Really focus some attention on sentence structure and subject verb agreements and predicate agreement. I had several questions that dealt with that. Go over your basic bio and light chem and for me the science mostly focused on A&P. Good luck to you.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone thought I had good chances of getting into the CBC nursing program this fall? My index score is about 26.2, considering I don't know exactly how to calculate my GPA, considering I transferred some credits over from a different college, so I only have 4.5 credits for certain classes for a 5 credit class at CBC.

I would think that you would have a fair chance CCleuzi with that index score. Without them giving out the exact index scores from previous years, it is hard to know for sure where the bottom typically falls. I do have a friend that got in last fall with a 25.9, but you just never know what the group of students applying will have. How was your TEAS score? You say you do not know how to calculate your GPA... is the 26.2 from the index generator on the CBC site or did you come up with that on your own?

I got a TEAS score of 73.3, and somehow the index generator on the CBC site didn't work when I enter in my numbers. I tried different web browsers but it still didn't work. So i calculated my gpa by multiplying my gpa on each class by the number of credits, add them up and dividing by the total credits. However I didn't know how much credits to multiply by. For example, on my transcript English I have 4.5 credits as oppose to the 5 credits or Stats where I have 6 credits as oppose to the 5 credits CBC has.

kelseyjwilliams I;m just curious what your index score is, and any others you might no of. I will be applying in 2019, and wanted to see if I could get a general overview of what the scores are this time around.

Thank you!

Hmmm. That is strange that it is not working CCleuzi. I am sorry. If you wanted to Email them to me I could enter them into the generator so that you know where your score falls for sure if you like. My Email is [email protected] Were you a Tri-tech student also?

I actually finally got the document to work for me! I don't know what was wrong with it, but I put in my information and ended up with an index score of 26.455. Would you say that's a good score? And I did do CBC's CNA program.

I think so. Did you give yourself the 2 points for the CBC CNA program on the form or is that score without it? Hoping we will hear possibly next week someone was saying on another thread. :-)
