You do not have to have a Colorado address in order to apply for a license. I currently reside in Georgia, and was able to get my license in Colorado with no problem. The only thing is that it won't be a compact license until you are a legal resident of Colorado, it will just be a single-state license.
Hi, I applied for CO license by endorsement. I did my license verification through Nursys. I would like to know how long it takes to get CO license once you establish your Colorado residency (I have a current KY compact state license). Is there any other requirement other then establishing residency?

Hello everyone! I am trying to obtain a nursing license in Colorado by endorsement (I have an active license in another state). I submitted the application and fees as stated on the DORA website, and did my license verification through Nursys. However, I read through the instructions several times and was not able to find anything about a background check. I know that most states require you to submit fingerprints for a background check. So am I missing something? I tried calling DORA to find out, but of course have not been able to reach the person I need to speak with and she has not called me back. I know the process itself may take several weeks, which I am fine with, I just want to make sure that I am not missing anything in my application. Does anyone know anything about Colorado requiring a background check? Thanks!
