APN/RXN in Colorado

U.S.A. Colorado

Hi!

Anyone have any idea how long APN licensure is taking? It's been ~2 months and DORA is impossible to contact.

Also, do you HAVE to have 3 years experience to be eligible for the mentorship required for RXN? I can't get an answer from DORA, of course!

Thanks!

Hi! I'm having the same problem with the 3 years RN license in order to get an RXN. Did you ever end up getting an answer? And without an RXN what kind of jobs are you even looking at?

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes, you will need to have had an active RN license for 3 years before you are eligible for an RXN.  The law was passed in 2017 but talking with some of my colleagues, they really didn't start implementing the requirement until sometime in 2018/2019.

Once that requirement is satisfied, you will receive a provisional RXN.  Once you are mentored for 1,000 hours from a provider that does not have a provisional RXN, you can then apply for the full RXN.

Hope this helps.
