Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to see if anyone has applied for Collin Nursing program for fall 2016

I took my PSB for the first time on Feb 4, and I got my results today which was a 5 :(

my Stats: overall 26 points

A&P I- A

A&PII- A

Micro-A

Cumulative:

Eng. B

Gen Psych.A

Humanities . B

Life span. B

so my points aren't very high, and I have no honors courses... but it doesn't hurt to try Its taken me forever to get this point with 3 kids under 4 I'm really hoping I get accepted!!

Hello!! I commented on the summer 2016 forum and futurern sent me here. I am waitlisted for summer (so if any of you know anyone who got accepted - tell them to drop!!) lol I also applied for fall and am about to have a brain aneurysm from stress waiting on letters. I seriously cannot handle another 2 weeks. Has anyone heard about people dropping the summer program? If nobody does, I am praying for acceptance in the fall and hope all of us get in!!

Welcome Lindsey!! I haven't heard anything about people dropping, Im also a nervous wreck thats all I can talk about to m husband, I started working out to relieve some stress seems to keep me distracted for a while.

Thank you, Paola! I also a nervous wreck. I called last week and haven't been able to sleep since. I already stress myself out about EVERYTHING so this definitely isn't helping!! I really hope letters get sent out next week.

I know exactly how you are feeling, especially when family member keep asking you for updates since they know how bad you want this!

Exactly!! It has been so hard even to get to this point. I also re-took classes and got a 5 on the PSB so I am hoping that doesn't look too bad. I did kind of screw myself the last two years doing pre-reqs because I went ahead and did 4-5 of my BSN classes while taking one of my science classes so that made things really difficult and kept me from getting an A the first time. (esp with working full time) With life events and work, it was really tough. I finally had to find different work (got my CNA and started working in a hospital December 2014) and had to limit the amount of classes I took at a time so I could finish up micro. I can only imagine how nursing school is going to be if I get accepted but I am definitely going PRN at my job and focusing only on the program. If y'all get accepted into the program, what are you going to do about work? I have always worked full time (some weeks 60 hours a week) so I don't know how to not-work, if that makes sense. My boyfriend has said if you get in, you are not working and I will take care of everything - whatever it takes for me to finish. I want this so bad!!

What did you call about last week? When letters will be sent? I will be working part time (about 20 hours a week). I will see how it works out the first semester and decide if it is doable for me. Awwww that is so sweet of him!

Yes, I was told they should be sent the 18th. That's a good plan! Just to see how manageable it is. I kind of want to call and see if I get the same answer as the guy who called earlier. lol now that he said that, I am even more anxious!

I literally just called (not sure who I spoke to) and she said hopefully next week by Wednesday letters will be sent. She said call back Wednesday and she can tell me if they have been sent or are "leaving"!! Yay!

Yes I hope retaking classes doesnt affect us too bad, after all to me it means we won't give up on our dreams, totally understand about life getting in the way as I don't actually work but I do have a 4 year old daughter, 3 year old son and 12 month old son, so it was really hard in the beginning to study while being the only care taker a hubby works long hours, so It took me forever to get to this point to even apply God willing we get accepted to start our journey to become nurses, to me this is not about just a job, I really have a passion I would say a calling to be a nurse! Im glad we can kinda relate Lindsey and like I said before I hope we get in this Fall!!

OMG!!! I hope so!!!

two similar responses are a good sign!! :)

Are we allowed to pick up our letters? lol

I'm going to keep you all in my prayers. Don't stress because the application is already in and there is nothing that stressing out over it will change. I have to keep telling myself that :)- it truly is out of our hands now. If you did the best work you could do, then that's all that matters.

It's not just about a job for me, either. I have a job now at the corporate office of a hospital that provides a comfortable living but I want to be on the front lines caring for people and hopefully making a difference. I'm in my 40s and this is something I have wanted to do for a long time but was too afraid to try so I have to believe if it is meant to be it will be.

I plan on resigning if I get in - it was incredibly stressful working full time and taking A&P 1, 2 and Micro so I can't even imagine working through the program.
