Collin College Fall 2013 Nursing Applicant's

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I just finished taking my PSB and I've already submitted my application to Collin College for the Fall of 2013. This is my 3rd time applying and I'm really hoping I get in this time around. If I did well on the PSB I should have 15 out of 16 points, so I think I should have a pretty good chance of getting into the program. My question is has anyone heard anything about students being turned down for taking A&P I twice to improve their grade? I received a B the first time I took it, so I retook it this last semester and at the end of the semester my professor told my class if this was our 2nd time taking it then we might as well not even waste our time applying to Collin, because they will automatically throw away your application if you didn't get an A the first time you took it. Has anyone heard if this is true or not?

I've been coming to this thread for a while getting comfort that I'm not the only one missing expected items. Today I signed up so I can post. I too am confused about the background check. Today's email pointed us to the bon website and I filled out the fingerprint card request, but I'm thinking there is more to it than that. I just didn't see any clear instructions anywhere.

Just in looking through the BON site, I'm thinking we need to be filling out the petition for declaratory order. Perhaps some of you have already done this, but I'm just now getting to it.

I received mine today finally! I just tried to sign up for my classes and got errors on two of them, so I sent them an email asking for assistance. As for the dentist his name is Dr Grinsfelder, he's located in Dallas and his phone number is 214-349-2160. I would try to get in as soon as possible.

Anyone know where I can get a physical too? I have never had a family doctor so I am a bit loss here...

Also did everyone get the email regarding setting up a facebook page and google docs for this intake? that sounds like a pretty awesome idea, and we can stop abusing this thread!

Thanks Rebekah!

Thank you!

Thank you!

So has anyone signed up for NSNA? I became a member solely for the health and benefits. I remember earlier this month that health insurance was being offered and now I can't find the link to where I can sign up and learn more about the health insurance. All I see is liability insurance... Anyone else notice this? I've looked around for other health insurance options not through NSNA, but there's so many that I don't know which to choose. I just need a basic, cheap, health insurance plan... any suggestions?

Also, I received the email you're referring to jochen088340. I think it's an awesome idea and I've already joined the facebook page! We should all definitely migrate on over to facebook instead of slamming this thread.

I tried to sign up with UHC student insurance through NSNA, but our school isn't participating. I ended up getting Humana's cheapest policy for $96 a month, all of the other insurance companies wanted to charge me almost $200 because I had gone through treatment for TB a few years back. If you want the cheapest and easiest to get through I'd say check out Humana's website.

I thought I joined the facebook group but I can't seem to find it and the link in the email is no longer working. Am I the only one having issues with it?

I know we are on other sites now, but I wanted to correct my previous post. I thought we had to fill out the petition for declaratory order, but that is only if the background check has an issue. So nothing we do up front. Just wanted to clarify.

Hello everyone,

I am planning to enroll for the nursing program in collin college.

I had been there but couldn't get more information.

I would like to know that how many hours for each credit hour I will have to put each semester. Moreover, how many days and hours of clinicals for each semester they have.

Somebody told me that its 8 to 5 college for all four semesters. When I inquired in Brookheaven and El Centro college, they have very less hours compare to collin college. Is it true that collin college have lots of hours academically and clinically than other colleges? Please help.
