I am moving to the Charleston area after graduating from a direct entry program. I have some interviews lined up at both of these hospitals.
Does anybody have any comments about hospitals. I have interviews for PCU, 3West, and 4West at TRMC Orangeburg. How do you like working there? What is the culture on the unit?
I also have an interview on the two med/surg units at Colleton Medical. How do you like working there? What is the culture?
Any other comments would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I live in Summerville. These are not the best hospitals in the area. How close to Charleston will you live because each one of the hospitals you mentioned is about an hour outside of town. Musc and roper/st Francis are some of the best hospitals in the area are convenient to Charleston. I have not officially worked for either of the hospitals you mentioned but from my limited knowledge and what patients say they may have high nurse turnover. Make sure you ask good question at your interviews.Good luck!
I'm going to be living in Moncks Corner. I've applied to several new grad positions ( at least 8 at MUSC) but these are the only hospitals to respond. I'm willing to drive the hr for the sake of gaining experience.
just bumping. hoping for replies

When I worked at MUSC we dreaded getting transfers from these hospitals, generally trainwrecks. When I moved into the area several years ago I was surprised at how long it took for hospitals to respond to my application to open positions, usually at least 8 weeks. Keep that in mind before you accept a position you are unsure of.
