College requirements?

Nurses General Nursing

I want to apply to several colleges but I am very iffy about being accepted into the Nursing programs. Most colleges have a minimum requirement and two of the colleges I want to apply to have a minimum SAT requirement of a combined total of 1050 on math and reading.

I took the SAT's twice and ended up with the same score (how ironic and weird)... I got a 1260 out of 2400. Ive come to realize the SAT's are really hard and Im considering maybe taking the ACT's?

Im really bummed because I think there is more to a student then just the SAT scores. So i was wondering.. if I didnt meet the SAT requirements to enter the program.. do you think I automatically wouldnt be accepted?

One of my teachers told me they will probably accept other students who met the requirements and if there was space left, they would fit me into it but that is very doubtful. Can anyone give me some guidence?

I want to apply to Fairleigh Dickinson, William Paterson, Caldwell College, UCC and I just applied to Middlesex County College... I want to go for Nursing as my major.

I have a 3.3 GPA out of 4.0 scale.. and class rank 70 out of 165.. if that means anything.

Specializes in NICU.

Well of course it's worth it to try again.. you have the opportunity so take it! It doesn't matter that they're always different, the questions in the book won't be the exact questions anyway, it's just the same concepts. Study hard and retake them!

But I dont really know how to prepare myself for the tests. I need to break atleast 500's in these sections.. and since I am only in Algebra 2 right now.. I dont even understand that stuff so much. I went down in math by 20 points the second time around... so that means I would need to break a 600 in my VR and keep at a 420 or something in math. But I am not smart enough to get those scores. I wish there was an easier alternative. I would try for the ACT's testing but idk how well or how seriously colleges will take that score. I wish SAT's didnt take part in your requirements, especially for nursing.
