College of New Rochelle Nursing Applicants

U.S.A. New York

Hello,

I applied to CNR for the Fall 2011 as a transfer student. According to the website, the deadline is May 21 but when do you find out if you are accepted? After you apply, you really don't hear anything from them again.

Can anyone share their experiences with CNR? Classes? GPA and essay when applying? (hearing feedback from a transfer student would be great but I'll be happy with any response that has accurate info.)

Got my letter today!! Does anyone know what the start date for Fall 2011 program is? The website says July 1,2011 with decision letters mailed out May 5. Our letters were mailed after may 22!!

Im going tomorrow am to pay my deposit and to talk to admissions to make sure all my prerequisites transferred

My gpa was/is in the 3.5-3.6 range overall, if you are talking pre-reqs only mid to high 3.6. I paid my deposit online (which is how I originally applied, so a link was added to my application page). I am incredibly excited and I cannot wait to start.

As far as the start date, I thought it was around September 8th but I am unsure. It could be possible that the accelerated program begins in July but please don't hold me to that.

Again congrats to everyone, it's going to be a tremendous amount of hard work, but keep your eye on the prize and stay focused. Nothing in this life comes easy without hard work, with the exception to the few people who win things like lotto :)

Accelerated program begins in July and individualized begins in September. Who is in the individualized program?? I got accepted woo!! Congrats to all!!

I paid my deposit today and handed in my financial aid stuff i am registering on monday

Rhavenm, are you doing the individualized program?

No i am a transfer student

who paid their deposit online? i can't find the link !

Hi Everyone,

I was accepted into the IT program over the weekend and I am beyond excited to start! I've done my pre-requisites at BMCC for the past year. I'm finishing up nutrition and psych 101 (re-take) and I'll be ready to start in September!

I paid my deposit two days ago, will be registering in person on Friday.

I currently live in Queens with my BF and we are looking to move into the New Rochelle/Larchmont/Bronxville area in September. Anyone have suggestions for affordable apartments in the area? I don't know NewRo very well but have heard good things

I paid my deposit online. At first I had the same problem as everyone else - online it just said, "Dear Jessica" without any letter. I told the admissions person about it and later that night it was changed to include the full acceptance letter with a link a the bottom to enroll. They said some people were having issues with that.

Can't wait to get started and meet everyone! :D

Hey there,

Congrats to you !!! I live in New Rochelle so I can probably provide you with some info on the area. Bronxville and Larchmont are very expensive, there are many private homes around the college and I know some are 2 family houses and look to rent one or both parts of the home. There are also apartments near the water in a complex called the davenport, the apartments are hit or miss. I have friends who have lived there and you walk in one building and it's nice, walk in another and it's kind of run down.

There are also a bunch of apartment buildings around the school on Pelham road. At one time years ago I lived there at 230 pelham road and it was nice. My brother lives on a street called Cooper drive. His apartment runs about $1200 a month. Which I think is high for a 1 bedroom. You are probably looking at about $1000 a month to rent. Your best bet is to look in the journal news classifieds, they have listings for new Rochelle, Pelham,Larchmont, and the surrounding area. You can also check craigslist, they categorize apartments as by owner and without a fee. If I could be any further help to you, email me at [email protected] . Like all areas new ro has it's good and bad, same with mt. Vernon, if u see a place on the journal news site and you get a street name from the renter, I can give you an idea on what to expect. Oh, there's also the Avalon in New Rochelle, but it's real expensive

Thanks!

I was at CNR yesterday to register and I took a walk around and noticed all the apartment buildings near the school. I loved the area!

I was leaning more towards Larchmont until yesterday. I would love to be able to walk to campus and my BF just needs reasonable (mile or less) access to the Metro North to commute to NYC. Coming from Queens any rent under $1,200 seems like a steal! I'm going to look more into those pre-war looking apartments nearby the college...hopefully they allow pets, I have a very mischievous cat coming along with me

I think I'm still in a state of disbelief...I can't believe in September I'll be starting college full time again!

Looking forward to meeting you all in August for the orientation!

What are the prereqs for cnr and does anyone have info on their grade retake policy? I live near new rochelle and my gpa isnt the best right now but I plan on spending some time in school retaking a few classes to boost it and am interested in applying in a few semesters.
