Just wanted to make a thread to see if anyone applied and/or got accepted into this program for Fall 2019. I have not seen a post for this cohort yet so I decided to make one for us aspiring nursing students.
I met with a counselor last week and he said by the end of July. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll get in because I thought they only focused on the prerequisites and not the Bachelors gpa which combined only puts me at 2.9 and you need a 3.0 ugh.
I just went on the Mercy website. Genetics are you serious?! They better not count that towards the cnr students. That’s just not fair but I want that damn interview!
Right ? So weird they added that. Well— I feel like there aren’t that many applicants and 2.9 is not far off. They probably look at the whole applicant.
Yea I was thinking of reapplying for the spring and taking another class during the fall to boost up my gpa. Any suggestions on what I should take? I thought about just taking genetics for the hell of it but Westchester Community College only offers the class in the spring.
Yep. I’ve taken that and algebra & trig. I’m thinking maybe biology because I took it over ten years go and got a C in it or maybe pharmacology but I know that class is hard. But I guess I’ll wait to decide by the end of the month when decisions finally go out, if they really do..
I actually just got got an email that I was accepted into the accelerated nursing program at Mercy. I am a little apprehensive though bc this would be the first year of the program. I can’t find any info online about pricing or campus location or anything like that.

Finally got a real answer from someone at Mercy. They are currently review applications and hoping to be completed by July 15.
