College of Mount Saint Vincent ABSN Fall 2022

Hey everyone. I didn't see a thread for this yet. I was accepted into CMSV's Summer cohort, but decided to defer to Fall for personal reasons. Is anyone else attending the program? Any former or current students that can share their experience?

Basically if you applied to the CMSV and expect to go to the queens “campus” just be prepared to for all your classes to be in the Bronx. The queens campus is a floor above sonic and popeyes. It’s kinda abandoned. Yes the lecture is in Riverdale but labs are in queens. The Bronx students are first priority. As for clinical placements you have no choice where you go. They have placed people in Westchester or New Rochelle so be prepared for that especially if you predominantly use MTA.

Every school has its downsides and it’s no different here. It’s a little disorganized and you go through various changes with short notice. The faculty isn’t any help so form a strong relationship with your cohort and things won’t seem too bad. The goal is to roll with the punches and get your degree because complaints fall on deaf ears. I also say save up a lot of money because your refund will take about 2-3 months to get to you.

Be careful.  They seem to be offering on-line courses, but no one at orientation knew anything about it.  And the on-line courses are asynchronous, meaning no teacher, do every thing on line, but on your own.

Oh no! Did they provide information about clinicals? Would they be offered during first semester?

Hi is anyone in the traditional program? Would love some feedback as well as I’m curious how does the class scheduling look? Does the department chose your courses? Are they flexible?
