Thread for COM applicants.

They had to extend the date a month because so few people applied. So those who applied have a decent shot of getting in!

I'm going to the book meeting too. Are any of you doing to Phoenix bridge program? There's an orientation for that at 12:30 today.

I am not doing the program. Are you?

Yeah, I'm doing it. I want my BSN and since a spot in the Sonoma bridge program is not guaranteed, I decided to go with Phoenix. Technically today is the first day of class for the 1st summer session.

Nice. Good for you! I wanted to do it but I just cant right now. I have too much going on.

No, I'm not doing the Phoenix program, it just felt like so much was going on at once. I'm hoping to apply to Sonoma's program & if that falls through then I'll apply to other state schools & work.

That's awesome, good luck:up: !! It's crazy how fast the phx program is starting

Are you guys doing anything in particular to prepare? I took anatomy & physio 3 years ago so I'm trying to brush up on that. But not sure if there's anything else I can do to prep

I think the best preparation is to take this time to relax and spend time with your family. When you take Ne 95. Everything will be explained to you. You might want to watch YouTube videos on a complete head to toe assessment. This is a skill we learned in first year that is a work in progress for us second year students. See you at the picnic.

Thanks jiowa12! That's the next thing I'll do. I appreciate the advice!

I have been reading the book "becoming Nursey" by Kati Kleber. Good book for prenursing/nursing students. Another book is "The Nurses" by Alexandra Robbins. Both good for summer readings

I'd like to know how you like COM? I'm planning to apply next year.

Hey I'm planning to apply to COM. How do you like it so far?

I'm a second year student and I love the program. I believe that admissions start in spring. Good luck to you.
