Has anyone applied for College of Mainland nursing program for Fall 2015?

Amen!! Also get ahead while you can and when say that I mean take the nursing classes that you can take prior to the nursing program to get a feel for it. Classes like health assessment, and pharmocology take this time off to get your mind right god will not place you In a place for failure. Keep applying and dont get discouraged this Is only a hurdle to over come.

Unfortunately they aren't letting us take health assessment during the summer and pharm isn't in the curriculum. I think it's apart of the health assessment since it's now 16wks instead of 8wks. If I could I would, but the 1st semester is rough no matter what.

Yea I know but I am taking health assessment at galveston college starting June,11- August, 13. My plan was to make It as less stressful as possible and no they said they extended the health assessment to a 16week course because recently alot of students have been failing it in the 8week session but I already work In the hospital so It well be the samething I do now assessing Patients just In a more detail fassion.

& I dont think this first semester will be hard, It will be challening in the sense of geting into the studying In the nursing way (Critical Thinking) all answer choices can be right but which answer Is the best for the situation at hand.

Yea I will call COM and see if there are any classes I can take over the summer. I took life span already so that's one less call to worry about. That's good that you work in hospital. I work as an MA in a doctor's office now so I'm hoping health assessment will be easier for me as well.

I'm ready for the challenge and to learn. I'm excited to get started! I'm also wondering about scrubs, shoes, supplies, books, class schedule, etc. hopefully we get the follow up email tomorrow with more information.

I honestly don't know, how many points did you have if you don't mind me asking, I think my pts were not calculated right but I think you have a higher chance than me at the moment. I asked them if for some reason some pl decide not to attend would they go down the list and call us and she said yes

I was also reapplying to the program, since I was in it for spring 2015 but things didn't go so well so I had to drop my courses

@gvazqz915 were you placed on a alternate list? Cause I was and I believe there was 10 slots open and they go down the list on there for people to have an opportunity to get into the program if some else declines there spot.

@gvazqz915 she said my final score was 398.20. But it should of been 415.20 I turned in a new TSI score which went up two points and I also turned in documents showing that I had CNA certificate and an Associate degree. I sent these documents through the email so idk if that's why they weren't included in my score. But I called the nursing program to confirm they had them and they told me yes. So I emailed her And told her all of this I'm waiting on a response.

And no I was unfortunately not in the alternative list :/

She told me my score was 395.20

I didn't score good in the reading I don't understand why

But I didn't I got 347 , I also have an associates in science

And a cna license and with my pre req s I got 35 pts and not including the gpa I was supposed to be around the 400s I know not a huge difference but I felt it could at least put me closer to the list
