Any applicants out there for COM Fall 2012?

Also, the advisor was telling people they couldn't apply if they still had prereqs. to complete. I was one of the people that she turned away from doing an EDP because I had a couple of classes to finish this summer. Frustrating. Then the nursing dept. sent out the email saying otherwise.

WOW! Thank y'all for the information. Only 24 applicants? Thats good to hear. I haven't completed all my pre-reqs and she tried to tell me the same thing, so I went straight to the nursing department. I am glad they got everything cleared up!

That is insane! I can't believe that didn't inform her properly of the guidelines for entrance into the program.

Honestly, I was upset to see the deadline extended because now we have to wait longer to find out if we are accepted, but now, I completely understand!

OOPS!! No names??.. had no idea... How do i delete a post?? Yes I am disappointed about the wait also... It just gives us less time to plan accordingly. And I need to know if I should sign up for health assesment and med term for the summer for com or if I should sign up for dosage calculations and health assesment for Alvin. I hate the waiting part

I am not sure how you delete the post, sorry. If they catch it they will edit it for you. Yeah, I am taking health assessment and med term right now. I really just hate waiting. Would you rather go to ACC or COM?

How are the classes? are they easyish? ill still be working full time this summer so that's why I ask. Im glad they will fix it im new to the site so I didnt know there were rules lol... Well, for now its whoever will accept me alvin is closer, but I have 2 good friends applying to com and I know one will def be getting in. Alvin will be sending out their letters in about two weeks so I guess I will decide then.

Oh yes and all of my vaccinations are done. I was applying to san jac's LVN program and had them done, then I realized not many people hire LVNs so here I am :)

Health assessment, you will def need to study. I am taking it at San jac right now. It's not too terribly hard. I am taking medical terminology online and there is a lot of busy work but it's pretty straight forward. How many points do you and your friends have?

Well some classes at san jac were not the correct ones (PE and stats) so I have 92 pts, if COM gets more applicants then I am retaking the teas I made an 81 so I only got 5 pts if I get an 83 I will get 20 pts. One friend has 80 pts so she has a slim chance, but with how many applicants they have now she really may get in. My other friend has 110 and she got in this past spring but due to some family issues she is reapplying and starting in the fall (And spring they accept 20-30) So if she got in with 110 for spring you will 100% get accepted for fall :)

Oh okay. Well good luck on your TEAS!! That is weird that your stats and PE didn't transfer, mine did. Yeah everyone may get accepted this semester. With my health assessment class (I have a 89 right now) and med term (I have an A right now) I would have 132 if I get a B in health assessment it will go down 5 points. I am still nervous about getting in but not as much! I really hope you do well on your TEAS! When are you taking it?
