College of Dupage for pre-reqs

Published

Hi.. I am shooting for Spring semester for a nursing transfer program in Loyola for the accelerated BSN. The problem is the pre-reqs I still need to take in College of DuPage are already closed since the number of students for the class have been maxed out. I was wondering if anyone had any similar experience and yet was still able to get in. What were the usual steps that you did in order to get in?

Thanks! :uhoh3:

Don't know about COD, but check with Loyola as to whether they would accept online courses. I am took Chem I and A & P I /am taking A & P II from www.iowacconline.com

My nursing school accepts the credits and the science classes include lab. Also check out CCConline (Colorado).

Classes start in Iowa Aug 23.

Good Luck

I did all my prereqs at COD. They were always closed. I got in by checking the registration web site daily or even more frequently, and jumped in when somebody dropped (before first day of school). I got into Micro THE MORNING OF the first class.

Others would just show up and beg and plead with the teacher. There is a big dropout rate in those classes. In my AP112 class, half had dropped by the midterm, which is frustrating, because others could have gotten in.

Good luck!

BSN June 2005!

Hi thanks for the tip! I did the same thing every single day. I would wake up around 6:30 since online registration doesnt open till 7 am just to check classes. Good thing I was able to enroll in both classes. Anatomy 111 and Microbiology. By the way, if you dont mind, who were your professors? I got Karen Persky for Microbio and Aruna Septhupathi for Anatomy. Any word on these teachers?

Thanks!

I went to COD for some of my pre-reqs. Didn't have the best experience there. My anatomy teacher was unreasonable and tested us on material he never covered in class.

I didn't like my micro teacher there. She tended to play favorites. Sorry if that's discouraging.

If you have a degree from another school, you should have your transcripts sent to COD, then they will bump you up on the registration list. After I did that I had no problem getting in classes because I already had a degree and over 100 hours of transfer credit.

take care!
