Nursing Students School Programs

Hey y'all

Anyone else out there applying to the CF 2021 Spring start program? Trying to find other hopefuls ?

Yes I was told before end of the month. I think last time I applied I had 49 points or so and this time I have like 65 or something if I do the math right. I got into a BSN program in Pensacola but not sure if I want to make the move. I feel like the points will be higher as online classes are easier in some ways therefore grades may be higher. Hopefully we hear sooner than later!

That's a really good score. Most people I have talked to in my classes have high 40's to mid 50's so you should be in a great spot.I applied for the accelerated option. Did you?  If I get accepted I am  I have been thinking about the concurrent BSN online at UCF.

I think I added it right. I have all pre-requisites completed with a 3.6 GPA and A’s in all the sciences. Only made a 76 on my TEAS and didn’t want to retake. Plus I’ve applied before and there wasn’t room last fall so I get points for that also. I think 65 but again I could be off. I also applied for the accelerated option only! I would absolutely get your BSN! It’s worth it to just do it while you begin working after your associates ?

I was selected as an alternate candidate last semester and had 54 points. Now with the extra 5, I have 59 points. Last time I only applied to the full time option & this time, I applied to all 3 options. I feel like they take more students in the Spring because they have accelerated, full time, and part time as well.

I am also looking at UCF! I definitely either want to get my BSN or MSN, you have much more opportunities with a higher degree.

I agree on the higher degree. So many employers will reimburse that too so why not. I like that UCF BSN where we can start after the first semester at CF earning the BSN simultaneously. I already took all the co req's for this program so after semester 1 I will only be taking 2 classes at CF. I hope we all get in ! I called a few weeks ago and was told that they got 127 applications for 60 seats.

Not bad odds! Best of luck!

The Concurrent ASN to BSN isn’t a bad option, do you think it would be very difficult to juggle ASN & BSN at the same time?? I didn’t even know UCF had that program. I wonder how many applicants they had last semester and how many they accepted. Best of luck to you guys as well!!

I believe its automatic acceptance after the first semester as long as the criteria are met. I think after the 1st semester and Pharmacology its probably manageable.

Did they let you guys know the decisions pretty quickly last time you applied? I hope the Covid doesn't cause them to take longer

I’ve heard it’s you can apply at the end of your first semester and you’d here back by the second semester. Making it around the 3rd semester when you’d start. Others I know that did it say it wasn’t bad at all especially after they graduated the ASN program. It’s runs 3 semesters after graduation from the ASN and costs about $6,000 for the BSN

Thank you for that information!! Sounds manageable. Honestly, it took longer than expected, probably about 4-5 weeks after the application closed.

I couldn't wait any longer without knowing something so I called. The lady told me second week of November. She was super nice but said the committee has to decide. They got behind on applications because they are going through accreditation right now. I guess they aren't really stressing it.LOL

Oh man, that stinks! But thanks for the update
