Well, Finite Math (I assume that is what you meant) has a lot of probability in it. I personally hate probability and you don't really need it in nursing. What you do need is dimensional analysis and I imagine you will get more of that in college algebra.
One of the schools that I am applying to asks for Finite Math and Statistics. All the other schools ask for College Algebra (BSN programs anyway).
Thanks for your reply. I had never even heard of this math

That's kind of weird. Maybe the finite math course there has dimensional analysis. Or maybe they think you need probability for nursing. I'm trying to think of a reason you would and can't come up with anything. Discrete/Finite math is typically sets, number theory, combinatorics, and stuff like that. It is really more useful for computer programming.

they ask for Finite if you are a transfer student without an AA. If you transfer with an AA, then they only ask for statistics. That's what Im understanding from it anyway. Basically I am 9 credits short for my AA, I still need micro bio and both A&P's with Labs for my nursing pre reqs.
Ive been combing through every schools websites, because I will be applying to most of them here in South Florida..
