Coenzyme Q10 through G tube

Published

I am wondering if anyone has experience having to give this one through a G tube. Getting a liquid form is out of the question. Not only is it messy but It just adheres to the sides of everything. I am wondering if anyone has any helpful advice on how to get as much in as possible.

No advice, the liquid is nasty, especially if you spill it. My clients complained because they had to buy it out of pocket and it is very expensive.

It's worse when you have to try to get it out of the pill form. I am trying to work through a theory, if I crush the other meds and add the Q10, mix it up a little to try to get it to adhere to the crushed meds then add water. Give and then flush. If I can do it quick enough.............. Maybe, just maybe.

Market America sells a liquid coenzyme Q10 that is meant to be taken as a drink, not sticky like regular liquid. Feel free to inbox me if you are interested in finding out how to order.

I've found it difficult to administer colace to my patients via G-tube as well. What I have done is used a syringe to withdraw the liquid without having to poke a hole and attempt to squeeze it out.

Also, you can always try adding hot water and allow the solvents to dissolve and most importantly to flush the tube even with coca cola or sprite so the bubbles can break up anything sticking to the tubes.
