Cochran School of nursing Fall 2020

Published

Hello All!

I noticed that there wasn't a thread for this year so I wanted to start one.

I live in near Hartford, CT and I'm 25 and I want to start a career in Nursing.

I have a BA in Psychology with a low undergrad GPA of a 2.51 ?

So I'm taking the longer route to eventually become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I do have a high pre-req GPA due to class retakes at several community colleges and I've also completed all of the pre-req requirements too.

Teas score of 76, and experience as Americorps state member at a health education site with 1700 hours.

Im hoping to take the kaplan test soon so any advice would help too! Admissions stated that they would give me a May 19 or 20th test date.

Anyone know when we will hear back from admissions after taking the test?

Also what score is competitive?

Specializes in MA.

Hey guys! I am also applying to Cochran, I previously applied in 2018 however I was missing two prerequisites and I was not chosen. I have since completed them and hoping this time around it works out. I was trying to also get in contact with staff for a while, but last week I was replied and I was able to send my things in time. I was out sick for a while in March and April and my studying was not really good, do any of you that have taken the test, can recommend any sources? The first time I took the test I got a 78, but that was two years ago and I’m not sure if the test is the similar or different.

I’m using the Kaplan book the 2019-2020 one. They have two practice version of the actual test, and it replicated the writing part. And I also use quizlet for the electrolytes

I wish everyone well!

Thank you Amydory1, I am still waiting to here when I can take the test, so I will look into that book, I have the older version and it was not helpful, I'm hoping the new one is. I wish everyone else well also!

I think I will just study the yellow ATI TEAS Book . Hopefully it’s enough for me to pass.

Hello,

I just heard back from Cochran on 4/21 and was assigned a day and time to take my Kaplan exam.

I believe, Ally, from admissions said we would be invited in June and informed on whether or not we were accepted. ?

Good luck!!

Hey did you take your test already I wanted to know what should I focus on for each section thank you ??

Specializes in Pediatrics.

Just finished the Kaplan today! The 2019-2020 Kaplan book has very similar practice test to the actual exam. Just study the AP portion of the science section.

Specializes in Medical Assistant- OB/GYN.
