Cochran School of nursing Fall 2020

Hello All!

I noticed that there wasn't a thread for this year so I wanted to start one.

I live in near Hartford, CT and I'm 25 and I want to start a career in Nursing.

I have a BA in Psychology with a low undergrad GPA of a 2.51 ?

So I'm taking the longer route to eventually become a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

I do have a high pre-req GPA due to class retakes at several community colleges and I've also completed all of the pre-req requirements too.

Teas score of 76, and experience as Americorps state member at a health education site with 1700 hours.

Im hoping to take the kaplan test soon so any advice would help too! Admissions stated that they would give me a May 19 or 20th test date.

Anyone know when we will hear back from admissions after taking the test?

Also what score is competitive?

No I have not called them. I emailed Haneen, and she hasn’t responded back yet. I’m afraid to call because I don’t want to annoyed them.

Specializes in MA, Ophthalmic Technician.

at this point I think we have no choice but to be patient and anxious I've emailed and called and nothing since May 22nd for advisement and never got it ? lets all pray that we get in and if god has other plans, where there is a will there is a way! ?

True! I really hope we all get in...

I emailed for advisement as well a couple of weeks ago and never got a response. She also emailed me last week asking for my high school transcripts when I had emailed them to her the week before ?. I think they are just so backed up, so I agree with us just having to be patient.

Side note. Did most people get in the 70s on the Kap exam? I scared that although I passed it wasn’t good enough ?

@anlm93 I got a 73 she said I did well considering everything that’s going on. But my GPA is a 3.2

She did mention this year they had a big amount of applicants, I guess more so than other years. Patience is key! Though hard to apply ! ?

Specializes in MA, Ophthalmic Technician.

@anlm93 @Futurern_1989 OMG same I keep thinking that others had higher scores and GPA and it messes up my positive thinking ? I had a 69 and GPA 3.2 also

I’m on the same boat I got 69 with 3.6 GPA

I do hope tomorrow we hear something!

When you guys say GPA , are you talking about the pre req GPA or previous degree GPA?
