Who is applying for COC's Fall program?

I am currently waiting to get my approval form - I sent it in over a month ago so I hope I hear soon!

Hey Excited1, yes I figured if I don't get picked this time maybe next time, and they have the csun ben bridge program opportunity for Spring applicants, I live close to Csun so I would love that! Yes I applied t Moorpark and Pierce college as well even though COC is my top choice because I have been going there for 3 years and I just love it.

My thoughts exactly. The CSUN bridge program is nice. I also applied to LA County. They have the same collaboration BSN program but through CSULA. Those are the only two i applied to. I like that LA County goes off of a point system, not lottery. But, COC has a good program and i live only a mile from there. At the end of the day, its the same degree. COC is significantly less expensive than County. Either way, i just hope to get in to either of those programs. Its nice COC will notify us mid-April. County doesnt notify until end of May or mid-June. The wait is brutal!

Jennylou, nice! I applied to Moorpark also, their program is very competitive!!! I live a mile from there it would be my first choice :) How many points are you at for Moorpark? We should hear from them next week if we get in I would think.

Jennylou, sorry one more question, have you received anything in the mail from MP? I haven't just the email to take my TEAs earlier this month, but I was just reading the form we got when we turned in our application and it says something about we will receive a letter by mail once the application review process is completed notifying us of our status? I don't think they send out denile letters so not sure what that means...

I dont know anything about MP and i know this comment wasnt addressed to me but thought i would make a general comment. I cannot believe they dont send out denial letters! That is terrible! I for one, would definitely want to see a denial letter if not accepted! Just tell me either way, but please tell me. Lol.

I graduate from COC in Dec 2012. They will send out denial letter a few days after he acceptance and waitlist letters.

Thanks five!!!! How are you liking the program?

Correction, how DID you like the program?

The program is more stressful then other ADN programs out there. In the long run it is better for you. I have been told that by a few different employer they will hire a COC student over another ADN program student because they know we were taught the right way.

Best of luck to everyone that has applied.

I am glad you made it through! By your last statement, i assume you had no problem finding a job? I have heard that about a few programs. I would be thankful to get into any program that is accredited and transferable to BSN.

It took me about 6 months to find a job. I am currently in a BSN online program now, that works with my employer to receive a reduced tuition. The RN to BSN program that COC has with CSUN would be a great option if still available. As many employers are only looking for BSN's.

Good for you! To my knowledge, it is still available as i was reading about at the start of the application period. I definitely realized long ago that a lot if employers are specifically looking for BSN only. However, there are always exceptions. Such as, who you know, prior work experience, the school you attended, etc.

Absolutely, and best of luck to you. COC has a good program with some awesome instructors. Don't get me wrong there are some instructor's that keep you on your toes. These are the one that you are thankful you had in the long run.
