:confused:Hi,
I just mailed my application to Coastal college of georgia in Brunswick ga. I was just wondering if anyone had any info on their selection process.
Thanks
I must say i really love this program. I am in the ASN nursing program. I love the professors. They are very helpful. I have taken my first fundamentals exam and made a 94 and just took my med. calculations test and made a 100. You will have to take Psy1101 and psy growth and development along with your A&p 1&2 and micro. Also math and english and humanities and two different history classes. I picked this school because i heard that they give you alot of hands on and that is what i wanted. I made a 80 on the teas and had a 3.2 gpa but i think what was really important is the fact that i had all of my pre req's done when i applied. If you can get all of your pre req's done or be doing the last set when you are applying that is a plus. I hope that this helps. Good luck to both of you. Let me know if I can be of anymore help.
I'm seriously thinking about applying to this school for next fall. I wonder if they'll take classes from Savannah Tech. I like the hands on approach that you (reeta116) mentioned. The only problem I'd have is getting to and fro Brunswick, but I'll worry about that if I got in. I think they're having some informationals soon.
I am currently taking courses from Savannah Tech. I spoke to the registrar from CCGA and they accept our credits but they transfer at a lower level, however it will still fulfill the requirements. I still make sure every quarter to call and verify with her that the classes are acceptable to htem though.
Really??? I called them a week ago and she said they don't transfer in to satisfy requirements, then two seconds later she said only the higher level courses transfer, so I was kind of confused and ended the call from there. I've noticed that tech offers two different anatomy classes, a 1000 level and a 2000 level. Which one did you take? I'm going to call them again and hopefully I can speak with someone else, the person that answered the phone kind of switched up the answer. Thanks!
Ok I sat down with the registrar and this is how she explained it to me. You must be taking degree level classes in English, Anatomy and microbiology etc. A&P at the right level is 2130. The easiest way I found to do this is enroll in the surgical tech degree. A lot of the basic requirements for both are the same. If you have any specifics on classes, shoot me an email and I will give you the specifics on each one I went over with her.
Right. I'm still in the LPN program and taking courses toward that program. My pre-reqs for the LPN will be over after the winter quarter, so when the spring quarter starts I may take the anat 1 and 2, chemistry, collg algebra etc. Hmm, I don't know though, I was planning on getting my CNA, phlebotomy, pct...Hmm, I'm going to have to do some serious thinking about that. I doubt they have a spring admission, I"ll check and see. Again, thanks Jen0708 for your responses you've helped tremendously!

hey i'm starting savannah tech in the fall quarter in a couple of weeks for the lpn program. I'm going to have to do some research on cgcc, but being all the way in brunswick will make it hard for me to get there, but if it works out i'll find a way!
