CNAs and military medics with a specific mix of experience are permitted to challenge the board to become LVNs in the state of California.I did not realize there was such a process.
You need 54 months of paid inpatient acute care experience plus an approved pharmacology course to challenge the board in California. 54 months is approximately 4.5 years, meaning it would be quicker if you just attended a 12 month (1 year) VN program. If you still want to challenge the board, you get your med/surg and other experiences by working in those areas as a CNA or tech.I Am a cna and I want to take the challenge test to become an lvn . So how would I go about doing the medical/ surgical nursing and the maternity and genitourinary
