First, which one is better?

Second, can u get a licensed or certified in CNA or LPN in a community college??

Third, does it matter if the school is accredited or not?

Last, if I have one of the other, will that give me an advantage into getting accepted into a nursing school to be an RN?

First, which one is better?
The LPN is better because you're a state licensed nurse. The CNA is an aide who tends to be the hardest-working, lowest-paid member of the healthcare team.

Second, can u get a licensed or certified in CNA or LPN in a community college??
Yes, these programs are offered at many community colleges and trade schools.

Third, does it matter if the school is accredited or not?
I attended an LVN program at an unaccredited school and will be able to transfer to an RN program with 1 year's worth of credit. It is better if the school is accredited, but not necessary.

Both will give you an advantage when applying into RN school, but the LPN will have more advantages than the CNA. There are many LPN-to-RN fast track programs where you can complete your RN degree in 1 to 1.5 years if you're already an LPN.

Always, always pick the most "educated" role that you can afford $$ wise and time wise. This will always lead you to better choices later in life. Pick the LPN or better yet - go right to the RN. Good luck. (BTW - sometimes, depending on your state regs - you can take the CNA test after you have completed the fundementals course of the LPN/RN. Then you can work as a CNA while going to school. That is a win-win choice)

This is exactly what i'm planning to do! I am taking the NET for lpn and am hoping to be accepted into the next class which starts January 2007. I will be starting a CNA class this Saturday and am hoping to work as a cna while attending school. I live in Fairfield Ct and am hoping someone can steer me into the right direction for employment as a cna. Where to work-which nursing homes/hospitals pay the most????
