CNA in Training Moving In Middle of Clinical - Please help!

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

Hello there. My fiance is getting her CNA in San Diego. She already finished the class part (I believe 4 weeks of classroom training). She just started her clinical at a hospital last week. We are looking at moving to NJ in 4 weeks-leaving her with 2 weeks left on her clinical.

Now for my question-is there any way for us to move to NJ, finish her clinical there in NJ and take the NJ test, or will she have to retake everything from scratch? We are moving to Ocean County (Brick/Toms River area).

If anyone knows the process and how/where we might be able to go about doing all this, it would be a huge help.

Thanks! :loveya:

The most logical answer would be to let her finish out her clinical rotations in California before moving to New Jersey...She only will have two weeks left, why not let her stay the two weeks and she can join you afterwards...usually it's pretty easy to take the CNA exam in California, I think they have them like every month through the Red Cross.....She would have to start over from scratch being that she didn't complete the course, so therefore let her finish the course...

Now another thing you might want to have her do is contact the New Jersey Board that licenses CNA's and see if she can either take her exam there, or if she stays and does it in California can she have it transfered there.

Good Luck to both!
