Hello - to everyone who has gotten their CNA.. where did you get certified from? I live in the south-east part of Michigan and I can't seem to find anywhere that offers it.
My friend got hired into Beaumont and they trained her after she was hired in. Is this how it's supposed to be?
I would love to be a CNA before I get accepted into nursing school!
Thanks in advance :)
Look at Washtenaw community college. They offer a nursing assistant class that is 3-4 weeks long and you are eligible to sit for the state certs. It cost half of what the ARC charges....You can register online and put down that you will be taking only that class and you wont have to worry about transfer credits or anything...that is what I did and I was going to register for the class this Fall, but I was accepted to WCCCD's nursing program for Fall and I don't have to worry about it....
Also, after you complete the fundamentals portion of your Nursing program you can fill out an exemption for training form so you can just go take the state certs....this is what I plan on doing so I can hopefully work as a CNA in a hospital until I get hired as a Nurse Tech/extern...Good luck!
I think anywhere from $10-16/hour.. you can never know.I go to school with a girl who started being a Nurse Tech last year, and she makes $16/hr now.
CNA's make about 10-12 bucks an hour depending on where you work.
A nurse tech makes about 14-16 an hour and you have to be a nursing student enrolled in a nursing program NOT a CNA.
