so after all this time searching and emailing and doing everything i can to find a cna course as soon as posible. i finally find one actucally at the college i've been planning on going to. guess i didn't look hard enough on the website. it's a non-credit course and it's not at the school, but it's through the school. so i called the number for info, left a message. and she calls back today to say the information session is tomarrow at 11am at the school in some building i'm going to have to find - not to mention parking - las time i used the map and went to where it said visitor parking would be but it was staff only. *shrug*
i there will be testing and sign up and a course overview and what you'll need. hopefully it won't cost too much - hopefully i'll get in!
so can anyone help me out - have you ever had to take like a pre-acceptence test thing before taking a cna course? what's it like, what's in it?
thanks

I didn't have to do anything for the CNA course that I signed up for, .......except PAY them!! Seriously, I stopped in at the college (because I prefer that to the websites), and asked what was available. The lady told me that the only one available was in another (affiliated) college about an hour away , so I'm like, Heck Yeah!! :chuckle . I cut her a check, and I was outta there.
I went up to the college to get my books, scrub top, and name tag. (And to scout the place out a bit, and see how long it would take to get there, etc.) Other than that, I don't think there are any pre-tests or anything, atleast not here.
All said and done, I think this deal (including the $100 certification exam) will run me about $4-500. ...I'm assuming they are somewhat similar there???........who knows. I start my course in October, and it will be two classes a week for 8 weeks. ..Wed. and Thur. 7am-1:30pm, I believe.
Anyway, get in there and kick some butt!!
Good Luck!
