CNA prgrams in Raleigh?

Hi,

Wake TEch is now requiring their applicants to be CNA certified before applying. Where else besides Wake TEch offers a training course for CNA's? Thanks

Most area community colleges offer the NA and NAII certification. Durham Tech and Johnson County come to mind. Most private programs are expensive, although those are out there also.

Hi,

Call Johnston Comm. College and or Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield. We always have a bunch of CNA's at JMH coming through for their clinicals and from what I've heard, the cost is very reasonable. Hope this helps. Sue...

I can attest to the CNA program at Durham Tech. It's really good (and fairly cheap). Good luck with your search!;)

You do not need a certified program to become a CNA in North Carolina. Go to www.pearsonvuew.com and you can study the book work and skills then go to a test site for the exam. Once you are done, you are licensed through the state of North Carolina as a CNA.

www.prometric.com also offers free study exams you can take on the Internet to prepare for the CNA exam.

www.pearsonvuew.com is no longer an active website, as for prometric I couldn't find their certification for a Nurse Aid when searching, would it be listed under a different name?

Thanks!

The CNA certification for NC used to be administered by Promissor, but I think they have been taken over by PearsonVue. You can find the current information for CNAI at http://www.pearsonvue.com/.

Look under Health, Medicine, Pharmacy and Nurse Aids

Then go under North Carolina Nurse Aid 1 and Medication Aids

That should give you all the information you need about trainining, what skills you will need to know, and how to schedule to test.

I hope that helps- Good Luck!
