If you are counting on working as a CNA in pediatrics, I think you will be very disappointed.
It is highly unlikely that you will work in pediatrics, ESPECIALLY as a new CNA! Doesn't matter that you have raised 3 kids yourself.
It's just that the job opportunities are not there. The majority needing CNA care are the elderly or hospitals. Most hospitals, and I'd dare say "all hospitals" will require at least 6 months in long term care, as in nursing home, which should tell you it's all about senior care.
There may be 3-4 positions in a pediatrics unit in a hospital...MAYBE, and you can bet those CNA's aren't going anywhere in a hurry! The majority of pedi patients are cared for by the parent in the hospital.
