CNA owes client almost $1,900-

Published

Hello,

I used to be a client through a notionally known home health Care Agency. (I am still a client, but not at the same agency. I want to try to keep this as anonymous as possible. I am a Medicare and a medicaid client. I am on oxygen, use a chair, and have a catheter. This all started around January of 2014.

The CNA that I had at the time was having a very rough go of things financially, and I asked her how much she needed to be able to travel to her grandsons birthday party. She had mentioned that she could pay me back, and I had always trusted her, up until then. I gave her $150 in cash, and a card that had about $150 on it. she overdrew the charge card that I gave her.

Shortly after this, as she was trying to sell some of her beleongings, she voiced the need for a cell phone. I feel like I should be brtaying like a donkey at this point, because I added a line to my wireless phone contract, and she got a brand new phone, otter-box, and all the bells and whistles, on me. She was still trying to sell things, and kept promising me money.

She's been promising me money for almost a year and a hald, and so far, I haven't gotten a penny. I have this sinking feeling that I won't. What can i do? I have a feeling that I was shut out from the best home health care I'd ever had at that point, because somehow, someone found out.

There's more to the story, but I didn't want to a write a novel. Thank you for your time and consideration,

Sounds like what happened here is that the CNA acted incredibly unethically. She never should have taken any money from you whether you offered or not. Have you reported this to the agency she works for? Was there ever anything in writing? Are you still paying for the phone line? Either way, we at AN cannot provide any kind of legal advice, which you may be in need of.
