I am moving to the metro area on the first of June. I know how bad the economy is up there but i have no choice. I am a single mother and i was wondering just how hard it was going to be to find a CNA job. I dont care what type if facility i work at. I just need a job. Can anybody tell me just how hard it is going to be to find a CNA job and does anybody know of any facilities that would be easy to get hired?? I am so worried about this because i know how hard it is to find a job up there and i have no choice but to move up there. Any input would be great!

You should have no problem finding a job. Healthcare is one of the few fields in Michigan in demand. There are a ton of nursing homes and assisted living facilities always looking for CNA's. What part of Michigan are you moving to?

If you have experience, you will probably be considered before those without experience.
I am moving to Oakland County but i am willing to work anywhere in the Detroit area. I only have 6 months experience. I am just so worried that i am going to get up there and not be able to find a job. Thanks for your replys:redbeathe

You should not have a problem finding a job here for cna.. I found one right away upon completing my state test.
Okay i am so scared that i wont be able to find a job when i get there. I lay in bed stressing over it at night. I hope that i can find a job fast. Your reply's have made me feel a little better but im just really worried. Does anybody know of any facility's that do a lot of hiring and that i might be able to get hired when i get there? I dont care what town i work in as long as it is in the metro area. I was also wondering if anybody knows if i would be able to work up there as a CNA if i am certified in another state? Would I have to get my certification in Michigan before i can work, or can i still work and get it switched over after i find a job?
