cna in michigan

I just finished my cna class, and received my email today to take my state test. I was wondering if anyone has any advice to give about the skills part. I have heard horror stories and they are making me nervous lol. I did great in class I guess I'm just not sure what to expect at the state...

As you do the skills part of the test, talk out loud to yourself as you go through the skill.

If you're not sure if you need to do a certain thing like handwashing or pulling a curtain, then do it anyway.

If you forget something...stop, say what you forgot, correct it, then continue on. If you forgot something and didn't remember until several steps later into the skill, again, STOP, say what you forgot and what you need to do to correct it, then continue on.

At the end of each skill, before you say or agree that you are done with it, take a very IMPORTANT minute to review what you've just done and if you forgot ANYTHING. It could mean the difference between passing and failing! If you did forget, you can say "I forgot to pull the curtain" or what ever..

If you've done all your reading and you study up on everything, the written test should be a breeze.
