Something to help supplement the text book. LIke different approaches for ADLs bedmaking ummm( thinking) responsibilities. Want to drive home the thought of CNA are important cog in the nursing field. With additional information, maybe the lesser educated could comprehend better. You know like picture of procedures or easiler to understand reading material. Our book is geared toward lower reading level. I just want my students to excel and provide optimum care to our residents and or patients. Thanks!!! :coollook:

I am currently enrolled in a CNA class. The text we are using is "Assisting in Long Term Care" 4th edition author: Barbara Hegner. I purchased my book through Barnes and Noble. I believe it was $69.00. There are 678 pages, which I feel seems a little ambitious for a four week class with 2 weeks of clinicals, but am only guessing as I haven't experienced my class yet. The vocabulary words seem to be quite extensive for a CNA, with quite a bit more Anatomy and Physiology than I expected. I will have to really knuckle under to do well in this class if they cover the entire book in much detail in such a short time. Each of the 34 Chapters have a Synthesis, Review, and Vocabulary. I have about 25 college hours. The book doesn't seem very much different than some college texts that I have had. You might like Hegner's book to supplement you current class material. I believe that the instructor's manual has some type of films or slides that go with the course. The publisher's web site:http://www.delmar.com :)
