Hey everyone! I am in need of help! I am a CNA who has worked in an ER as an ER Tech and preNursing student (almost finished with prerequisites). I have 2 interviews at a very well known University's Medical Center. One as a Care Partner in their Level 1 Trauma Center and the other one in their PCICU. I love the idea of both and wish I could work in both while in nursing school but I have to choose 1. I know that after I have my BSN and have worked and gained experience and confidence in my skills I want to apply for CRNA school. I am not sure if I should get into an ICU now or live out my dream of working in a Trauma Center. Also do you think it's possible to work in both departments as a nurse? I have an amazing interest in Trauma & ICU. The heart amazes me and what the body can withstand astonishes me. I know I will be happy in both. Input is so much appreciated!!

Get into the ICU now. My ICU experience as a CNA got me a job as a new grad RN in ICU. It puts you that much closer to CRNA school. Be wise and plan ahead like I did.
Thank you so much! I have been thinking about that. I feel like I will learn so much! Working in an ER taught me tons so maybe it's time to move on to other learning opportunities that will open more doors. I really enjoyed being called over to the ICU and assisting the nurses and CRNA when they needed extra hands. Thank you for your input! 😊
