CNA in L&D or PP?

what does CNA's do in L&D or PP? Do they even hire CNA's?

some units do. Mine does not. we have all certified surgical technicians, no CNA's. Need to check around the hospitals where you are, to see if they use CNA's or not.

Our womens and babies hospital hires CNAs. They take vitals, make beds, tranport patients. SOme work in the nursery and give the newborns their baths, hearing tests and basic stuff like that. I do know a lot of L&D and PP depts won't hire CNAs OR LPNs. It is best to check with the facility you are interested in working at.

Our unit does, but what they mostly do is stock and play go-fer. And set up sterile delivery tables. They do not scrub in the OR.
