Cna instructor:diarrhea of the mouth

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

My cna instructor told me that she has doubts that I'll pass the skills test. I don't appreciate her telling me that in front of the class because my spirits are down, and the other students don't want to study with me because I'm pegged as the slow learner. :(

i don't understand why nursing instructors always have to pick on the weakest students in a rude manner. I try to be on my A game but I'm bound to make mistakes as a newbie in the health field.

Thank u mean instructors for showing me the cruel, heartless side of nursing. I'm leaving this profession and not looking back.

Really Jasonj880......you need to take 2 steps back or maybe 3 feet away because you don't know me and you don't know the entire situation. I would just keep on browsing if you have nothing to contribute, you just want to start trouble on this site because you can't take your frustrations out on anyone irl. :::Shakes head ::::[/quote']

You're right; we only have one side of the story. We cannot give an objective reflection or assessment based on one side of the story. We can only reflect hypothetically and based on what facts, if any, are presented. I will say this: No matter what career field you end up in, you must learn to manage your reactions and emotions towards others. Letting them get out of control can often paint an image of yourself that you were not intending. The same goes for sharing things on the internet. Interpersonal communication is stifled when those who are participating cannot see one another face to face. Personal attacks which have no relation to the original subject are actually counter productive.

I'm easily discouraged regardless of what major I'm in.

OP, you've been having a continuing challenge of being "easily discouraged".

Based on your previous posts here on AN, you have shared you have ADHD; perhaps you need additional assistance in studying and help figure out your learning needs and plan your success; you have been successful in the past in obtaining a BA.

Being in this business requires the ability to address challenging personalities (sometimes even with peers and superiors  ) work well under pressure, as well as be able to be competent and safe professionally in your practice.

As far as your instructor-like previous posters mentioned; there may be people in all walks of life that are not always so, tactful.

Take a cleansing breath and step back. Arrange a meeting with your instructor and the head of the program and examine what she said. Are you doing well otherwise? Come to an understanding and advocate for your success-IF this is the business you want to be a part of.

Best wishes in whatever you decide.
