I am new and a Midwife from the Philippines. I am in Orlando and I'm looking to take the CNA Exam. I hear that it is possible to take the exam without taking a course. Is this possible? Can anyone help me with were I go to register to take the exam? Where and when it is given? I would appreciate any help that you can give me. I am also looking for any kind of work in the medical field until that time if anyone could tell me what kind of work I could do in this field. Thanks again! :)

Bembe,
You can call Experior at 888-277-3500 for information on the CNA exam and testing requirements. The state of Florida has all of the licensing an testing outsourced to this company.
I recently ordered a CNA info package from them, and you can certainly take the exam without having taken a CNA prep course.
According to the package, there are two testing centers in Orlando:
- Center for Professional Training
- Life Care Center of America
Give Experior a call. The package will have all the info you are looking for (even a very description of the clinical skills test).
Good luck! :)

I am also from the Phil. Now considering this cna exam,so i can start working in a medical facility. All i did is search the cna testing school, but when i talked to the school, yes we can challenge the test, but it's also good to have some training on the actual side.We will be fine with the theories, i'm sure.Try to search where you can talk to somebody who will understand your situation, they will guide you on what steps to do. I wish you are just closer here, i can help you. I lived 1 hour from Orlando.Daytona School here give some suggestions on how.
Good luck.

The best thing to do is take an exam prep class to learn how the state wants the clinical skills to be done. Even experienced nursing assistants don't always pass the test since they do not know the exact way the state requires the skills to be done. We have a CNA Exam Prep school where we teach the 21 skills you need to know. It is hands on training in a nursing home room type environment. We also give you a study guide and a set of nursing scrubs. We can assist you in registering for the state exam as well. Please call for more information. Registrants for next week's class recieve a $50 discount!!
