Great question. You will be preparing the patients meals, a lot of times it is just something heated in the microwave, do the dishes, empty the trash & perhaps sweep the kitchen floor. Make their bed and they might ask you to water some plants. There are thoose who will try to push it but that is very seldom. I had one lady who wanted me to rake her yard/no can do.

You should have a description of duties provided by your agency when you are hired. Most times, it can consist of making beds, making LIGHT meals (no gourmet cooking), cleaning the immediate area (such as the tables near the bed, or within the immediate areas that the patient is exposed to, maybe the tub/toilet after use) and light laundry.
O.k. great input. In addition to that you could check for denture cracks, overall safety of the environment (loose, old cords, ect. ), expired food, ask them what they ate, range of motion, ask them if they bathes, help them
with the meal for the day?
