Anyone recently take the CMC exam from AACN? I’m thinking about it. Any suggestions on materials to study for it? Any thoughts on Nicole Kupchik’s Ace the CMC®!: You Can Do It! Study Guide?

I took Nicole Kupchick’s CCRN class and thought it was very helpful for the CCRN exam. I studied from the practice test book and after studying that for a few weeks, I thought the test was quite easy. I cannot speak specifically to her CMC material but she lays things out simply and impactfully in her CCRN material. Having spoken with her I know she takes a lot of time tweaking her questions and material and I think she does a good job with her material.

I used Nicole Kupchick's CMC review along with the AACN's CMC review course. I did a bunch of PASS CCRN cardiac and pulmonary questions and got a 74/75 on the exam so I would say they were really helpful! I found it more challenging overall than the CCRN because it was so focused on cardiac, but that is where my interest lies, so it was easy for me to make myself study for it.

I've used Cammy House-Fancher's online video seminar for CMC (I also have her previous CCRN audio cd's). It's a great course and includes sample questions. Plus you can get reimbursed and get CE credit.

The PASS CCRN test bank is pretty helpful as well (just set it to cardiac only questions).

The AACN website has an online course that prepared me well. You also get 14 CEU’s once you complete the course.
The course is fantastic though.
