I live in Columbus, but I just moved here 6 months ago. I'm not familiar with the schools here since I graduated from nursing school in North Carolina.
The floor that I work on has nursing students doing clinicals from all the local schools. I've heard good and bad just like any nursing school in the Nation.
I *think* starting pay for a LPN is $14/hr and RN is $18.78 where I'm employeed. $3/hr for night shift and $3/hr for weekend shift.
another question: I will be relocating to columbus soon... what is the best way to apply to the hosptials as a cna? are they willing to hire? or do i need to start at the nursing homes?
Columbus Regional: apply online ONLY

Doctor's Hospital: not sure
St. Francis Hospital: apply in person or online

No, you do NOT have to work in LTC first. There are plenty of position available in a hospital setting if that's what you want.
Columbus regional is a good place to work. They will pay directly to Cols. Tech if you go to school there. They have financial assistance and a contract with Cols. Tech. They believe in advancement for their employees. You should here something soon. If you have one semester of nursing school they can hire you with better pay as suppose to being hired on as a CNA.
I live in Columbus, Georgia. I am currently going to Columbus Tech for the RN degree. I was thinking about doing the lpn-rn bridge to Columbus State. I really like Columbus Tech so far (it's only my second quarter). They have relatively small classes, and the teachers are very caring and nicee! :) Hope this helpss!
