I work in a small psychiatric facility and one of my residents is a wonderful, smart, highly functional man, who has terrible drooling from clozaril. He handles it well, but I know he would love to find a cure from this side effect. Normal anticholenergics havent worked. Clozaril is the only antipsychotic that has worked for him, so changing meds is not an option.Has anyone had a success story around this that is outside of the cogentin/benadryl box????? He started on the oral disintegrating clozaril a few months ago which is supposed to cause less drooling but so far, no luck. Any advice?

Dec 9, 2008 Have you tried "Kwells" (Trade) - [Generic - hyoscine hydrobromide]http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100001438.htmlNot used that often but has been known to bring some success.Similarly - atropine preparations:http://www.hopepharm.com/saltropine/index.htmWe used to put 3 drops atropine in small cup of water - but check with your pharmacist.
