So I worked at a clinic where I was then terminated for suspicion of HIPPA breach. I filed a grievance and even took it as far as taking the situation to arbitration but lost anyway. From what I understood I could never be re-employed by the clinic or their hospitals ever again.
I'm now going into my second year of the LVN program where my clinicals will be taking place at one of my previous employers hospitals sites.
I'm worried, am I not going to be able to move forward with my career due to the false accusations that happened over 7years ago?

Were you aware of the situation before you entered this program or is this a recent change to clinical sites that was not in place when you started? You may have to find another nursing program if you can not complete your clinical requirement.
I just found out at the end of my last semester. I'm trying to keep positive about things in hopes that they would look at this situation differently and won't keep me from pursuing my career in nursing. After all I'm not applying for employment there, I'm just trying to move forward

Talk to the clinical placement coordinator (or whoever sorts out the clinicals) and explain the situation. They may organise clinicals at another hospital or clinic.
When I was a student, another student made some very bad errors whilst on clinical placement resulting in her being escorted off the property and told she couldn't come back. The clinical placement coordinator organised for her to finish her clinical placement at another hospital which she did and is now a nurse.
I'm sure this has happened with other students so be honest and open, heck it was 7 years ago, you have to be able to move on!
Thanks a bunch for the advise. I spoke to the school's Director of the Allied Health department and she said it shouldn't be a problem. So keeping my fingers crossed I hope she is right í ½í¸„
