Clinical skills/procedures

Published

I was wandering if anyone knew any good textbooks that had clinical skills and procedures with pictures and explations

Specializes in Utilization Management.

I use Clinical Nursing Skills: Basic to Advanced Skills by Sandra F. Smith. Has pictures, explanations, and rationales for the explanations.

There are some CDs/DVDs that come in a pack and contain videos of procedures and practice questions for your practicum tests. They came bundled with one of my other books but the pack is called "Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Skills, Student Version 3.0" by Mosby's Nursing Video Skills. It is helpful to watch the videos, as the demo you get during clinical lab doesn't always show you everything you need to know.

I also use the Smith book for lab/clinicals. This is our required text for clinical.
