Hi,

Soon I will be done with all my main course/prerequisites, I want to get this done prior to doing my clinical for my RN.

My question is what is the fastest amount of time that it can take to complete your clinical. I have heard anywhere from 14 months to 2 years to obtain your ASN.

The 14-month program runs straight through the summer.

If some people could respond on how long there programs take that would be great.

Does it vary from state to state, or from hospital to hospital?

I am not trying to sound like I want to skimp on doing clinical time.

Basically If I could compress my clinical time that would be best.

I would love to find a program that runs straight through 6 days a week etc.

Any comments would be great.

I think you should ask at the schools you are interested in. Things like that seem to vary.

At my school you pretty much have to do clinicals in the Fall-Spring-Summer-Fall-Spring progression - you can't do anything early because each one is considered a prereq for the next clinical.

For an ADN, it's four semesters (and we don't go in the summer). So if you start fall semester, you'll graduate spring semester two years later. If you want to get an LPN, it's two semesters and two "exit" classes in the summer (IV therapy is one of them, I believe).
