Just curious....in my state, it is a BON rule that there can be no more than 10 students per instructor for clinical settings. If a school is in violation of this rule, what happens to the school? I feel that the rule is in place to protect the patients. If anyone knows, please respond. Thanks!
Texas BON states 10:1, but can be a higher number if the lead clinical instructor has another RN assisting. To answer your question, you can talk to the hospital's educator or DON or the school's Dean of Nursing. I doubt the BON will try to prevent you from graduating. Seems like there are not enough instructors - the school may have to cut back on admissions.

I was hired (as an LPN) last August to be the Clinical Supervisor for CNA students... Our state (PA) allows me to have 10 students out in the clinical setting.
I am expected to be there WATCHING when they transfer a resident, and I am only with them for 5 days (40 hours out of the 100 hour class) and I really feel that they are not truly getting enough time in total... 100 hours is not very long to learn all the things that are required for them to pass their certification test.
