CLEP

Please talk to me like I'm 4:imbar CLEP is basically testing out of a class, right? Well then how do I do it? I would like to clep out of the gen eds for the Excelsior LPN to ASN program. My stupid credits won't transfer so I thought this may be a better option than taking the classes yet again. Can you take clep at Pearson Vue? What are good clep study materials? If someone wouldn't mind would you explain the process to me in detail, from how to do it, how to study for it, down to how to get results to EC. HELP!!! Much appreciation to anyone who replies!:heartbeat

CLEPs are usually available through local universities. I took a couple of CLEP exams at a local university, in their library. If you check out the link that RNandRRT provided, you can look up the closest CLEP test site to you and call them to arrange an exam. I paid $65 for each exam, plus a $15 site fee. My local uni only did CLEPs on certain days of the week, so I had to schedule them in advance. There are several good CLEP study guides available -- the ones from REA.com seem pretty thorough. Good luck!! Oh, and always make sure you get approval from an EC advisor to use a CLEP exam for credit prior to testing.
