Clayton State Acceptance Fall 2009

Published

Anyone out there get an acceptance letter from Clayton State for Fall 2009 yet? I heard they had mailed out some letters this week, so just curious. If so, what was your GPA and NET score?

Well..i do not know about all that..I know and I am 100% sure that Christy Hicks who is in charge told me you have to take patho before you can apply to the program and be accepted meaning you can be still taking it while applying..In your case i do not know why it was like that..i know sometimes they let people with very good gpa's apply without taking patho i guess in your case but you still have to have it done before you can start taking the upper level nursing courses,..so just call the the department and see what they tell you, it might be different..

I know this is an old discussion but can you all that was accepted to clayton post your overall GPA, math and science GPA, and test scores at the time of your application! I recently sent in my app. for the Fall. I'm super nervous!

I wasn't going to reply but no one else is... my stats don't really draw a line though.

overall: 3.92

pre-reqs: 4.0

NET: 92

my TEAS: 96 (but back then I took it for another school, CSU was using NET)

I applied to 5 schools and got accepted to all of them. I settled on CSU b/c it worked best for me and my family. I graduate Fall 2011. There are many others in my class who made C's or even failed a class the first time they took it. I think you need to be well-rounded. Let me know if you have any questions about the program. If you get accepted, I can give you some pointers!

I have an overall GPA of 3.38, a pre-reqs GPA of 3.4, and an 80.7 on TEAS! Really nervous that I won't get accepted for fall!

I think your stats are pretty solid. It sounds like a student here. Fall semester is always more competitive due to the time of year. If you don't get in right away, I would try again in the Spring. Did you apply anywhere else? If they call you for in an interview, then you've got a really great chance! :yeah:

No, I didn't apply anywhere else!:uhoh3: I've been wanting to be in Clayton's nursing program since 2007. So applying somewhere else wasn't for me. I just can't imagine sitting out this fall and having to wait 6 months longer than I anticipated to start my nursing career. How was the interview?

I think I talked about the interview early in this thread with a friend of mine who started the program with me (we ended up being friends!). I would make sure to express to them how much you value Clayton State specifically and why. I'm sure they want people who really want them. Be confident in the interview that you can take on any challenge that they can dish out; in fact, be excited!

Thank you! I feel a little better. Still a little nervous, but I guess I will be that way until I hear from them!

I'm sorry one more question. What type of laptop was required?

Just something that you can get wireless internet on. I would go with something basic. I got a really nice one, and it is dying on me for no good reason 2 yrs later. Also, the school can provide you will the newest Microsoft Office suite (and virus protection) for free. They have awesome tech support, that's for sure! Oh, and I believe the school has some kind of contract where you can get a discounted one from Dell. Actually, now that I think about it, the school has a few laptops they have picked out that they recommend. Good laptops for the money, I think. Go talk to "the Hub." They are seriously a great resource.

Are there any nurse dosage calculation classes?

Can someone please post something about the Clayton State University's interview process? (what type of questions, dress, etc.) I have an interview scheduled for Monday and no idea what to prepare for....thanks a bunch
