Has anyone applied to Clarkson's CRNA program for 2022 start date? Curious how it is going? Any thoughts on the application process? Anything else worth sharing would be great!!

Thank you ?

The committee is pretty good at what they do in terms of focusing on personal and clinical stuff. If they see holes in your work history they will question you about that. If you resume speaks for itself, they kinda put in on the back burner. For instance, I went to a few different hospitals right before I applied and went back to the ICU and they kinda tore into me about that. They wanted to know exactly how much ICU experience I had. It seems there are about 50/50 on out of staters and Nebraska people. More females seem to be in most of their cohorts. If you are invited for an interview, make sure you visit the campus the day before and spend time finding exactly where you need to be. I spent some time with a friend who is in the class before me the day before. The day of I had a hard time finding parking and I forgot something in the car. Plan accordingly with your flight back home. My interview was pushed back by 45 mins and I was the second person to interview that day. Stay somewhere nice while you are there... Its worth it. I stayed somewhere crappy and it made my time more stressful than needed. The program has been great so far since you are able to stay remote during the first year, which is the DNP stuff.

Hi ? I would love to hear your feed back!!

Do you feel the committee focused on personal lives rather than clinical situations l?

Do we have to compete with several residents for spots in the OR or procedures?

I have many questions but please share as much or little is OK with you? .

Any and all info you feel like sharing would be greatly appreciate.

Thank you!!

I was accepted into last year and I feel your pain in waiting for a response. I can't give you great advice on timelines as to when they will let you know about interviews as last year our interviews were postponed until July 7th, but I can provide information on the interview and what I wish I had done differently when staying in Omaha. If you have any questions reach out to me.

For the distance learning, do you have scheduled Zoom classes, or is it more self paced with recorded lectures that you watch on your own time? I took stats at Clarkson and it was more like the latter.

Distance learning is at your own pace. No Zoom stuff. It's exactly like the stats course.

I had a question about interviews. I was wondering what the overall structure is like. Is it about half and half with regards to clinical and E.I questions? Is the format changing with the new director starting? Just curious.

Oh great! I actually liked the setup on the online modules. I know you’re not technically supposed to work, but does anyone you go to school with still work once or twice a week during the first two semesters, or are you so inundated with work that it’s not even worth it?

Since transitioning to the DNP they added one class to the Spring semester of your first official year. Your pre-reqs are a scholarly writing class and a graduate statistics course (you can work during this time - full time). Then your Spring semester you will either need to quit or work part-time.
