Hello! I'm a pre-nursing student hoping to start in the UTHealth Cizik Pacesetter program for Fall 2025. I'm starting this thread to connect with other pre-nursing students aiming for the program, as well as current students who might be able to answer our questions. If you're comfortable, please feel free to share your stats, questions, comments, or any concerns. We're all in this together, and hopefully, we'll be celebrating our acceptance together!

Nope, none whatsoever. Other than being a lifeguard for a Summer, that I put on my resume, if you count that. I lowkey have no idea how I got in. I was also waitlisted at UTMB!!

Hi, I know it's only the 2nd day, but did anyone get an email from IdentoGo? On the acceptance letter, it says to send the results by July 28th. I'm worried I won't have enough time to submit it. Also, did y'all purchase the drug screening through Surscan or PreCheck? Cause on the new student checklist it says to purchase the screening through Surscan, but on the New Student Guide email I got after my acceptance letter, it says the initiate the drug screening through PreCheck.

I received my identoGo email, but it took about a month to receive after I was accepted. The drug screening is through Surscan and the background check is through Precheck, so you have to do both!

Has anyone been accepted with a low GPA? I graduated in 2010 with a degree in Biology. I have all the pre-reqs and just took the HESI and scored a 92 but my GPA is on the low end. I still plan on applying and I know it is very competitive, however, I still have a small glimmer of hope that I could gain acceptance. Any other applicants in the same boat?!

I just got my rejection letter and I have a 3.8 overall GPA and 3.9 science GPA with 92 HESI score! Really confused on why I got rejected.
