Hi! I have not seen a discussion forum going on for this term, so I decided to create one! Does anyone know when we might get an admission offer? I saw they extended the deadline.

Hi, did y'all take gen chem or intro to chem? I got accepted but they're saying we have to have gen chem completed by the end of the semester and I have no idea how that's gonna work because classes will for sure clash

OMG I know I was not going crazy either... They had a PDF that showed that Intro to Chem was able to fulfill the chem requirement and now suddenly want Gen Chem !!

OMG HEYYYYYY it feels so good to have a comrade 😭 do you think you're gonna be able to complete the prerequisite before the start of the second semester? I have no idea what to do because we would have to be going to chem class multiple times a week and that's for sure gonna get in the way of clinicals and other things

OMG! Same thing happened to me, I took intro to chem bc the prerequisite page I was using when I was taking my prereqs just said chemistry so I took intro to chem, and now it says general chem!! I was so nervous bc I received an email saying my application was incomplete but I talked to one of the admissions ppl and they said it'll still be reviewed but I would need to have that class done if I do get accepted. I wish I knew it was supposed to be general chem earlier 😕

Yep. I had the same happen to me for psychology (I took it almost 20 years ago). I called to ask about the timetable of getting it done and they said it has to be completed. I asked if I could defer admission until the fall and they said no, I would have to reapply. OK, so....then I asked about admittance and they said it will not be automatic. I would be up against the other applicants all over again.

Hi! I'm literally in the same boat. Could you share the PDF with me? I know I saw Intro to Chem as a pre-req. I'm wondering if we all go together to the Student Affairs and show them the misinformation, will they let us in?

 

I signed up for HCC accelerated Summer Gen Chem lecture and lab from 06/03*07/07 but we will be in class at Cizik during the times the HCC classes are held. 

I'm having so much anxiety about this. I do not want to delay until fall and have to reapply (and pay for application fee, send my transcripts, etc. again).

It's the way they deleted the PDF from their pre-req page 😭! But same, I am hoping to get situated and organized at UTH and then deal with Gen Chem on top just for a month. I called the day I got accepted and the person in the office told me they never changed the chem requirement and that it has always been Gen Chem as the requirement; I felt gaslit bcs the PDF was right there.... saying "Chem 1405 or Chem 1411"

Same problem here, but with a different class. Got accepted on the condition I complete said class (which I thought I already had) by the start of the program in May. How is that possible?? Like it's almost April, how do they expect me to start and finish a class in 1 month? Frustrating.

That is so frustrating, I really don't understand why they had to change it because general chem and intro to chem are the same concepts!! Also, when I was taking my prerequisites I copied and pasted the prereq page from ut health onto a Google doc and I just checked it to see if it said general chem and it doesn't! It just says chemistry. The way they gaslit me that it always said general chem smh

That is doing too much on their part. I tried getting into 8wk class Gen Chem at Lone Star College, for the 4th session which started last week, but the official record day was on Monday and was unable to because that's the day I got in and found out abt the missing chem.

Do you guys actually want to go and speak to them as a group? Or is that too much? This is way too much to stress RN
