Civillian RN Landstuhl

Specialties Government

Hello all,

Looking for information on Civilian RN jobs at Landstuhl. My husband's non military job may be sending us to this region of Germany in the near future. I see that there is a current travel posting for this location but I'm interested in something more longterm. I would greatly appreciate any info regarding schedules, pay(including housing allowance), and anything you'd be willing to share. My details are 8yr BSN 4 MS / 4ICU.

Specializes in Operating room, ER, Home Health.

Check USAJOBS.gov. That is where government jobs will be listed.  Because of the SOFA agreement there are time limits and other rules for employment you will not find in the states. As far as pay you would be a GS-11 and can find pay scale at https://www.dcpas.osd.mil/BWN/WAGETitle38Schedules/
the wages are low but I believe there is a COLA and you will receive a housing allowance.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any information  on what their schedules look like? I’m familiar with USAjobs and how cumbersome it can be. Couldn’t find any salary info with that that link but I’ll Google GS-11 and see what I can find. Also would you happen to have a resource I can query about COLA and housing allowances?

There is a new job just listed today in USAJOBS and it list a salary range of $55,756 to $72,487 per year.  You might trying looking in OPM.gov for housing and COLA information.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

It's a great area, I grew up there. ? Funny, I had applied for a GS job there the year before being selected for active duty (Army, direct commission). I didn't hear anything from Landstuhl until after I was selected to commission, so I obviously had to decline! LOL. I always wanted to get back to Germany, but the closest I came was flying through with a brief layover on my way to and from Afghanistan. ?

Bumping this back to the top. Still interested in finding out what kind of schedules they work.
